Hi guys, here is my task response to the task 1 assignment from IELTS 7 pg 53:

The line chart illustrates describes the consumption of four different kinds of meat and fish, in an un-named European country, from 1979 to 2004.

Generally speaking, we can see that the consumption of red meat and fish has decreased over the period of 26 years, leading to 2004. In contrast, the number of grams of poultry eaten per person has steadily.

In 1979, the population ate approximately 60 grams per person. This figure decreased slightly over this period, and in 2004, the number of grams eaten was roughly 40 per person. As mentioned above, the grams of red meat consumed has declined. The amount of beef and lamb was 230 and 150 respectively. From 1979 onwards, both numbers dropped, although there were fluctuations for both.

Finally, in 1979 chicken was the third most popular meat listed, as approximately 140 grams was eaten by an individual each week. this number fluctuated upwards until it reached its peak of just over 250 grams at the beginning of the millennium. It dipped slightly in 2004, to just under 250 grams, which is more than double the amount of beef consumed in the same year.
